Dates: November 23-December 1, 2024

The entire universe is the syllable OM.

Mandukya Upanishad

This retreat is devoted to the exploration of the four states of consciousness:

  1. the waking state or A of AUM,
  2. the dreaming state or U of AUM, and
  3. deep sleep state or M of AUM,
  4. pure consciousness, turiya, the silence after AUM.

Through the practices of meditation, contemplation, and yoga nidra, we can wake up to that pure consciousness that is behind all the three states of waking, dreaming and deep sleep.

We will approach this subject very practically. Exploring the waking state of consciousness includes your relationships, taking care of your body, breath and conscious mind. Diving a little deeper in the other two states will help you discover how to purify the unconscious mind, improve sleep and transform your personality. Being aware of the fourth state helps with building your philosophy of live and gives you a solid foundation for practice and daily living.

Guided classes include the practices of Joints and Glands, asanas, breathing, relaxation and meditation.

No prior experience in yoga or meditation is required.

We will use Swami Rama’s book Enlightenment without God and Om, the Eternal Witness as a guide.

Participants commit to staying in the ashram for the duration of the retreat to intensify their practice.

Three vegetarian meals are provided daily.
