Dates: November 22-30, 2025
In order to understand and choose a path for enlightenment, one should thoroughly understand the philosophical and psychological foundations on which the various paths are based.
Before one is actually ready to choose a path for himself, he must understand the internal and external architecture of life, and then alone determine to practice the philosophy he has chosen. One’s philosophy should be build, just like a mansion and then one should live in it.
~ Swami Rama
This 9-day program is designed for both people who want to prepare themselves to begin walking on the path, and for those already walking on the path who want to deepen and individualize their practices.
During this retreat we will introduce you to the different available paths of yoga, including karma, bhakti, jnana and raja yoga along with its preparation.
We will be using Swami Rama’s book Choosing a Path as a guideline during this retreat which starts with an extensive chapter on “Preparation for Choosing a Path.” No matter which path you prefer the preparation is useful for all.
We will explore each path, their commonalities, their unique aspects, and how they work together to support your personal path to become free from all fears and abide in the silence, the stillness, the Self.
There are daily guided classes on the practices of Joints and Glands, asanas, breathing, relaxation and meditation.
No prior experience in yoga or meditation is required. It is recommended that you read the book Choosing a Path, by Swami Rama before attending the program. Yet, there is also time scheduled during the program to read, reflect and contemplate on the book.
Participants commit to staying in the ashram for the duration of the retreat to intensify their practice.
