Dates: To Be Announced

“There is a method called yoga nidra in which you can have conscious sleep. Yoga nidra is a state between sleep and samadhi.”   Swami Rama

This weekend program is primarily practical, designed to introduce the participant to the practice of yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, as taught by Swami Rama. Yoga nidra is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness.

The method of yoga nidra practicum as described in the book by Swami Rama, Enlightenment without God, will be used as a basis for yoga nidra instruction.  The book is available in the ashram bookstore, or online through Amazon.

This weekend program offers daily gentle yoga classes, breathing and relaxation practicums, mental exercises, and guided meditation practice. There is also enough personal time for self-study and for walks along the Ganges. Three vegetarian meals are provided daily.

The practice of yoga nidra includes: diaphragmatic breathing, crocodile posture, corpse pose, tension/relaxation exercises, breath awareness, 31 points  and 61 points, and the sequence for beginning meditation.
