“Kriya yoga, or preliminary yoga, is practical yoga. Since it is not possible to immediately gain control of the mind and its thinking process, your emotional life, and all your desires and appetites of the primitive fountains, you will have to practise systematically, step by step.” Swami Rama

Tapah svadhyaya ishvara pranidhanani kriya yogah.

Kriya yoga encompasses three basic principles: tapas, control of the senses; svadhyaya, study of the self; and ishvara pranidhana, surrender to the Lord within.

The weekend program is designed to introduce the participant to the principles of kriya yoga according to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with the practical application according to the teachings of Swami Rama.

Program begins on Friday at 4:30 p.m., and ends on Sunday at noon (participants are invited to stay for Sunday lunch).
