First time visitors to the ashram are required to attend a program. Participants must be at least 18 years of age. For a full listing of programs, please visit the “Programs” page or “Calendar” page.
We try to give everyone a private room, but if the ashram is full, it may be necessary to double up. From July 1, 2024 there will be an extra charge for private rooms.
Many programs have long waiting lists. If you are unable to attend a program, please be considerate and let us know.
The ashram does not provide accommodation for drivers.

Admission to the program is by application only. Application does not ensure participation in the program.

Payment can be made upon arrival at the ashram by cash (rupees only), personal rupee checks payable “at par,” QR code, credit/debit card, or wire transfer. We have online facility for Indian credit card/debit card. At the reception desk, we have an international credit card swipe machine. In case of wire transfer, you must inform us of the transfer so we can verify receipt of funds. Please do not wire any funds until your registration has been approved.

Three vegetarian meals per day are served, and chai twice a day. The ashram menu includes grains, legumes, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. Bed linens and towels are provided.

Program fee, and/or boarding and lodging, does not include: Insurance of any kind; medical services, fax or phone, internet, stationary or other supplies for personal use; postage stamps; laundry soap; or transportation to or from any airport, bus station, or elsewhere.

Off-Campus Activities: It is best to have as few distractions as possible. It is helpful to limit off-campus trips for necessities to once per week. This gives you the opportunity to participate more fully in the program so you will gain the maximum benefit.

Dress and Conduct: Visitors are requested to wear loose, modest clothing. Tight jeans, tube tops, tank tops, spaghetti strap tops, sleeveless tops, plunging necklines or backs, miniskirts, shorts, are not allowed. Tops should be short sleeve or long sleeve, and pants should be loose fitting to accommodate yoga and sitting postures. Public displays of emotion are not appreciated.

Emotional Relationships: We suggest that you avoid forming and/or maintaining intense emotional relationships during your brief stay at the ashram.

Quiet Times: We maintain silence in the ashram from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Meals are eaten in silence.

Earphones must be used with any audio equipment used in participant’s room or elsewhere within the ashram.

Housekeeping: It is the responsibility of the visitors to clean their own rooms. Cleaning supplies will be provided by the ashram. Please conserve water by not using the shower head, but bucket bath instead.

Miscellaneous: Pets, and radios (except with earphones) are prohibited in the ashram. No tape recording or photography is permitted during any class or lecture.

Release/Responsibility: The ashram reserves the right to terminate the stay of any participant in any residential program at any time without liability and without any obligation to pay a refund or any other amount whatsoever.

Caution: We do not allow visitors to swim in the river, or walk in the jungle on the other side of the river. Please be advised that any visitor unwilling to respect the ashram's policies may be asked to leave the ashram.

Representatives of the ashram may at any time photograph and/or videotape particular seminars, lectures, special programs, or other activities. The ashram reserves the right to use any such photograph or videotape in ashram publications, advertising, displays, and publicity materials without obtaining further consent from any program participant. Each program participant releases the ashram and its representatives from any liability in connection with any such use of such photographs and/or videotapes.

Smoking is not permitted in the ashram. Alcohol and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited.

In the unlikely event of a visitor having a medical emergency while staying at the ashram, and the visitor is unable to communicate his/her wishes at the time, the ashram has the visitor’s permission to call an ambulance and take him/her to the nearest medical facility.

Agreement: I have read the terms and conditions governing the program and agree to abide by those terms and conditions. I also understand that if I do not follow these terms and conditions, I will be required to leave the program immediately. As a participant in any residential program, I understand that I am not in an employment relationship with Sadhana Mandir Trust and am not covered by any health insurance policy or program, workers’ compensation insurance, or disability insurance maintained by the ashram. I agree to hold Sadhana Mandir Trust, its officers, agents and employees harmless from any and all manner of liability arising out of any injury or illness sustained by me during my participation in any of the residential programs.
